Semi-Finished Vs Finished Liners

Semi-finished liners are the preferred and best practice when rebuilding your engine to ensure the perfect clearance.
If the parent bore is out-of-round a finished liner should NOT be used.
Fitting a finished liner to a distorted bore will result in a out of round bore.
When a semi-finished liner is installed into the cylinder block the liner is then machined to achieve the correct clearance while maintaining a perfect parallel bore.
