Welch Plugs, Core or freeze plugs, are generally replaced when rebuilding or repairing your engine.
If your engine has steel type plugs they are prone to corrosion, this is why we supply a combination of quality aftermarket Brass and Stainless core plugs in this kit.
The camshaft welch plug in this kit is a steel cup, this welch plug is not required to be brass as is is not exposed to your cooling fluid.
